We Need Social Connection During Corona Virus

Updated: Mar 31, 2020

Hearing negative news about Corona virus can be more infectious than the disease itself. When people worry about catching the virus, their vulnerable mental state can lead to weakened physical health. They may develop fatigue or a minor cold as a result. Government officials are calling for social distancing to protect ourselves. Many public events and places are shutdown for the next few weeks. No more school, community centres, museums, galleries, church, etc. During times of uncertainty, we need to have social connection more than ever. Visit your family, friends, and neighbours (via online video). Bring them what they need and drop off supplies at their door step. Share a meal together by Skype or Zoom. Reach out to someone you haven't talked to for a long time. When you touch someone's heart, your own heart is also touched.
