TAI CHI REJUVENATES

MY TAI CHI

I have practiced Tai Chi for 20+ years. It has kept me healthy and energetic. Tai Chi is like Kung Fu in slow motion. I have taught classes at Ryerson University, community settngs, and religious organizations in Toronto.

My martial arts training began as a child when my father taught Kung Fu to me. As an adult, women's self-defence training helped me develop confidence and alertness for fending off potential dangers. At middle-age, Tai Chi training was perfect for keeping my body healthy and my mind calm. Teaching classes helped many people stay fit and healthy as well.

WOMEN'S SELF-DEFENCE

As an adult, I took an interest in women's self-defense and enrolled in Wen Do training. This form of martial arts is designed for women's self-defense. I learned techniques for deflecting and defending myself when faced with dangers on city streets and subways.

This wooden board was broken with my bare hand using the technique of Hammer Fist. This demonstrates women are much stronger than they are led to believe by society.

EARLY MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING

I was introduced to martial arts by my father the Kung Fu Master. As a young girl, he began training me in the Sword Kung Fu routine of precise, graceful movements.

The long, double-edged sword is used in Kung Fu and Tai Chi practice for exercise and performance. Today, martial artists still training extensively with the sword because expertise in its techniques is considered a refined expression of martial arts.
