DISAPPOINTMENTS AFFECT YOUR WELL-BEING


There is a correlation between our feelings of disappointment and the expectations we hold in our lives.


During Covid-19, most of us experienced disappointments of varying levels because our expectations and plans for this year went down the drain. In my younger years, an elderly man I know shared his wisdom with me. He struggled a lot when he was younger. In his old age, he felt more at ease with life because he didn't expect as much from himself and others.

The lesson learned is letting go of expectations. We can't always plan or predict the future. And working hard doesn't always bring the positive results we desire. The key is going with the flow and not expecting too much. If something good happens, then be grateful for it. If nothing happens, then accept the reality. This is a lesson for our lifetime.
